Every class is led by a credentialed teacher. Most of our instructors have been with us for years, and they all share the belief that lower pressure and more fun beats drills every time.

Teaching since 1998
With a background in music education and a passion for helping children grow, Katherine opened Melody Magic Music Studio in 2003. She designed the studio around what kids need most to thrive — community, creativity, and confidence — creating a space where students feel encouraged to explore music, build friendships, and develop skills that extend far beyond the classroom.

Angel grew up in a small town and brings that same close, every-kid-counts attention to her teaching. She covers nearly every program we run — Kindermusik, group piano, Instrument Explorers, ukulele, and voice — and the belief underneath all of it is the same: every child has a voice worth hearing.
Beth
Studio Manager
Beth is the happy face that greets you when you enter the studio. She runs the studio's day-to-day, scheduling, parent communication, enrollment, and making sure every family is cared for. She keeps the class roster running smoothly so the educators can stay focused on teaching.

Teaching since 2017
John picked up the saxophone as a kid and never stopped collecting instruments. Today he teaches piano, guitar, ukulele, and electric bass at Melody Magic, and can meet a student wherever they are — whether that's a first-week beginner or a teen who wants to play in a band.

Teaching since 2018
Faith moved to the Richmond area in 1996 and spent years as a middle and high school English and Drama teacher before moving over to music. She specializes in Kindermusik and group piano, and her favorite moments are hearing the students say "I did it!" and "I don't want class to be over yet!"

Teaching since 2019
Jelena was born in Europe and brings classical-roots piano training into her private lessons. She is now raising two young musicians of her own. Like the kids she teaches, they are at the stage of figuring out what music actually means to them.

Teaching since 2021
Michaela has taught group and private lessons in piano, guitar, and ukulele professionally since 2017. She is at her best with students who want to try more than one instrument and figure out which one sticks.
