Melody Magic Music Studio was founded in 2003 by Ms. Katherine — a mom first, and a musician with a deep love for children. What began as a simple dream to bring music and kids together has grown into a studio built on understanding, compassion, and real-life experience. As a parent, she knows what families need: a place where children feel safe, supported, and truly seen — and where learning is joyful, not stressful.

From the very beginning, our goal has been to create a child-centered, family-friendly environment where everyone feels welcome. We’re more than a music studio — we’re a place where children can grow in confidence, build friendships, and discover a lifelong love of music. Many families tell us it feels like a home away from home, and that’s exactly what we strive for.

In 2011, Melody Magic opened its dedicated studio space to better serve families in the Richmond community. Designed with both children and parents in mind, our bright, clean, and thoughtfully prepared environment allows kids to learn freely while giving parents peace of mind. Even our youngest musicians are cared for, with safe, age-appropriate space for those first wobbly steps.

Since 2015, we’ve been honored as a “Kindermusik® Top Program,” placing us among the top 5% of programs worldwide. This recognition reflects not only the quality of our teaching, but the heart behind everything we do. Our highly trained educators are passionate about guiding each child’s journey, meeting them where they are, and helping them thrive.
